frozen alive: isolation songs
recommended tracks: dreamwalker
ahhh... the first songs i ever posted online. the gall i had... anyways, most of this isn't worth the listen, but it holds sentimental value since i think it was the first time i ever even allowed someone to hear a finished song, much less anyone who possessed the link. the only song i can say i like, even just a little, is dreamwalker. but some random people on the internet said it had its moments, and that made me happy
this project is very, very fuzzy in my memory. i only remember little bits and pieces of making any of these, often just isolated visual memories replaying like scenes in a movie
- dreamwalker, the intro was a recording of my guitar feedbacking on standby that almost blew my ears out when i first clicked arm on my input. i also remember strumming the chords and playing with a pitch shifter, and almost entrancing myself for a while
- from below swallowed whole, i recall it being the first time i just randomly set parameters for an effect and went with it
- cosmic flight, pretty sure this was where i understood how much little details offer. specifically a vocal sample i dropped in as an accent that ended up adding a ton of tonal support
most of these memorable moments were from serendipitously finding a sound that made me think wow, this sounds cool, entirely on accident. i think this group of songs serves specifically to remind me of that now. leaving room for accidents and luck, and being open to what they have to say, is a very valuable tool in one's artistic toolkit
